Those cuddly bubbly monstrous creatures!

Jack's momma was having a tough time trying to convince him to keep away from the screen at least for a while and have a brush with the books.

After all it was the hugely popular anime show, ‘Pokemon’ that was enticing Jack so much.

While the kids might quote ‘n’ reasons why they like to watch the show, even queer is the story that goes behind the making of this amazing saga.

Producer of the Pokemon show, Satoshi Tajiri had this habit of picking up insects and putting them into his pocket. Did that turn out to be an inspiration?

Yes for sure, in fact the literal meaning of ‘Pokemon’ is pocket monsters.

The craze and craving for the show is so much evident that clambering on to the online path is but natural for them.

At the center of the plot is our protagonist, Ash Ketchum who is surging ahead trying to claim credit over as many Pokemon as possible.

He starts off from the Kanto region with the Pikachu and then there is no looking back after that.

After ruling the roost in the Orange League it’s a journey to the town of Pallet again, in the mean time Ash has to his credit as many as 8 badges from Johto.

Next destination is the Hoenn region where Ash manages to land in top eight.

In this way, the tryst of Ash continues as he wanders from one region to another and tries winning over as many as these cuddly bubbly pocket monsters.

Strange it may seem to a few who bump into the lad but if this be the source of his motivation, so be it! We are not complaining for sure!

Kids Revel in the Pokemon Tournament!

What could be more interesting than winning in something, which you love doing the most?

In the recently held Regional Championship tournament at the Memorial Coliseum, , happiness on the faces of the participants, and winners, reiterated the same too.

A gathering of about more than 100 competitors, the tournament witnessed the most enlivened, and vigorous teen contestants, trying to win the competition in their own individual capacities.

The event was organized to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the pocket monster, or Poketto Monsutâ, or Pokemon, which is the American rendition of same.

This must have been a great experience for all the Pokemon lovers, who could make it to the tournament.

Being present at such an event was indeed indispensable, and indisputable.

After all, many of us have really grown up watching the anime series.

The anime series, which has been gripping our attention, is actually immeasurably multiplying it too.

Ask me how?

Well, when we watch the anime series, we get acquainted with each and every Pokemon character. And thereafter, we tend to expand our zones of entertainment by reaching out to various renditions of the series, like – trading card games, video games, and online portals dedicated to the same.

I believe all you anime buffs are quite learned, especially when it comes to your favorite anime series.

Therefore, jumping on such a wonderful platform, is quite like adding a cherry on the icing.

The event had various categories, inviting participation from different age groups.

And you know what; the teenage strata topped the participation percentage!

I believe kids, and the teenage population, really picks up the basics of game quite well as compared to the adults, who tend to search for logic in every move which they make.

Now, who will make them understand that if we start to make sense of all the games too, then where will we be able to relish our own fantasy world?

The lucky ones, who won their receptive challenges, were awarded a chance to combat for another challenge in the world championships in Hawaii.

Check out the names of winners online, if you wish to.

I guess, no other way, one can obtain this much of excitement, and pleasure.

Men and Women Will Always Be Worlds Apart...Even on Pokemon!

No matter what aspect of our lives we take into consideration, the difference between men and women is sure to surface at some point. The world of the Pokemon is no different, as they also get to be treated drastically different by the girl trainers and the boy trainers.

The girls always seem to have a hint of emotion as they choose and train the Pokemon. For instance, when Misty first joined hands with Ash in her mission to be the world’s greatest ‘Water Pokemon Master’, she had certain moments where she was overwhelmed by emotions.

For instance, there was a particular episode in which the memories of her sisters and the way they mistreated her, resurfaced, impeding her performance as a trainer.

That is not to say that the boys never have to face their emotions. But it is just that the men seem better at disguising their weakness, and instead, concentrating at the task at hand.

Emotional upheavals have not been the only expression of femininity on the show. As you watch the Advanced Generation seasons of Pokemon, which you can access online, you will come across a character named May.

May is a 10-year old girl, who served as a replacement for Misty on the show. As anyone who watched the series would agree, there was something about her that inadvertently made one smile at her innocence.

She exhibited an increased preference for good-looking Pokemon, just as one would expect a young girl to. She was never one to be too ambitious, and instead gave more importance to how good her Pokemon looked.

She was also seen indulging in uncalled for rivalry on several occasions, mostly over petty issues. This, yet again proved that whether it is in our world, or in the world of the Pokemon, women and men can never be expected to behave the same way. But it is these differences that add flavor to our lives, isn’t it?

And The Winner Of Pokemon World Championships Is....

Pokemon World Championship is something every Pokemon enthusiast looks forward to, but winning the championship is not a child’s play.

And child’s play it was certainly not, with Ray Rizzo emerging as the winner at the recently held Pokemon World Championship. Ray, who also won the championship last year, has successfully defended his title this time.

Ray is only 19-year-old! Whoa!

Fighting for the trophy were around 400 players, but this didn’t deter Ray’s will to clench the title. The young winner is pursuing his education from Drake University, and is currently in his second year.

The man-of-the-moment suggested after his victory that he has been playing Pokemon, since the age of 6.

This is what you call persistence and perseverance.

In the game, a player has to go through 640 different characters, and make a team that collides with the teams of other participants!
All the 640 pocket monsters have unique powers, making the choice even more difficult.

Now, I don’t think I have 0.01 percent chance of winning this game. (If I start counting, I doubt if I will successfully reach till 640, without missing one here and there!)

Along with the trophy, Ray also took home a scholarship worth $7,500 and free trip to the next championship, which will take place in Hawaii!

Man, I think I need to start learning the game; I watch the episodes of Pokemon online regularly, but I don’t think it will be sufficient. (I have to learn counting till at least 640, anyway!)

What do you think guys?

How much chance do I have in winning the next championship if I start working now?

Pokemon Smiles on Tohoku!

To get over a tragedy is not an easy task. Though physical injuries may heal with time, emotional trauma keeps haunting the survivors of any disaster.

In such testing times, anything that brings a smile makes a lot of difference, and Pokémon will be doing the same in Tohoku region.

This region suffered the backlash of nature, when the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake struck on March 11. A lot of damage was suffered by one and all, damage that cannot be put in words.

And a recent wave of optimism was given by the Pokémon group, when it announced that an all new Pokémon Center will be inaugurated in Sendai City in Miyagi Prefecture within this year.

This store will set camp in Sendai's Aer skyscraper, which is a prominent building in Tohoku region. Officials associated with this store reflected that the idea behind the place is to give the children of this area, a ray of hope and togetherness.

The store is brought up, while keeping in mind ‘POKEMON with YOU’ calamity support initiative, and it would be simultaneously working on many projects.

From distribution of Pokémon goodies, organization of recreational events, and bringing together funds to help the children, who suffered at the hands of the nature, there is much more in the pipeline.

An insider from the Pokemon world stated that the store is being brought up to make a place, where children can come and forget their troubles for a little while.

Well folks, I think it is a very important initiative and such steps would keep our kids smiling in the time of adversity. I used to stop my boy from making a download of Pokemon, but now I think that this one is an anime show with a mission, and rightly so! What do you think?

Let go of Pokemon Rumble!

Action just can’t come to a halt when the name Pokémon comes up. The battles, beatings, strange powers, clashes and the funny moments caught the imagination of viewers a long time back.

Pokémon Rumble, which came in 2009, must be still fresh in the minds of gamers, who love to explore the characters in the world of Pokémon.

The news is that the gamers have to let go of the super popular game, Pokémon Rumble soon.

No, there is no fault with the game itself but there has been an escalation which will force the gamers to move on!

Well, I think I should break the mystery before one of you throws the consoles at me.

The word is out that Pokémon will, soon, arrive with additional firepower and will storm the world of gamers with Pokémon Rumble Blast.

The game will be available for Nintendo 3DS and would become available from October.

Pokémon Rumble Blast would contain more than 600 Pokémon characters and it would surely bring alive all the thrill and chill as the action will be real time!

The players have to pass through stages which will be marked by rival Pokémons. The action would be multifold as the players have to keep watch on several Pokémon at the same time.

In addition to this, the kills made by the player can be attained and used in further battles.

The Boss Pokémon would be the hardest nut to crack as he would possess powers that can make anyone lick soil.

But, hey, what is the fun in playing a game that has no challenges or uphill tasks?

Other than all this, characters from the latest Pokémon Black and Pokémon White would also be making their presence felt in the upcoming game.

Man, I have not got over Pokémon the show even though I have seen nearly all the episodes, and now this new game has arrived!

Not to worry, I think I can manage.
Bring it on, Pokémon!

The Voice behind the Most Celebrated Animated Character, Ash!

The character of Ash Ketchum on the Pokemon series has always been well loved, and it is a major reason for fans to watch Pokemon. Even though we might claim to know a lot about this character, few of us can come even close to imagining what the people who’ve voiced him over the years are really like.

When you think of the voice behind Ash, it is natural to imagine the voice as being that of a young cheeky boy. However, as you probe into details, you’ll discover that both the voice artists who have voiced Ash in the anime series have been middle-aged women!

33-year old Veronica Taylor was the first person to provide her voice to the character of Ash. She did the job for the first eight seasons of the show, and is the voice, which most of us can best identify with the character of Ash.

Talking of her experience on the show, Veronica reveals that she found it very difficult to live up to what was expected from her in the first ten episodes of the show. She believes that this feeling came from the fact that the directors of the show were too stern and too serious about making the show work.

However, as the show gained momentum, their attitude became more relaxed, and ever since, she thoroughly enjoyed the job of giving her voice to Ash. As happens with all voice artists, she gradually began to identify with the character of Ash, adding her own nuances at different points.

Even though Veronica has now been replaced by Sarah Natochenny, you can still watch the initial seasons of Pokemon online to witness her flawless portrayal of the character of Ash.

Pokemon A Tale of Valor and Wit!

This cartoon series has kept everyone hooked, ever since it premiered in 1997.

It has managed to strike the right chord with viewers, and its protagonist Ash Ketchum emerged as a role model for many.

I don’t need to say much in its eulogy, for it doesn’t need any.

The humongous success of the show can be gauged from the fact that it has in its kitty, a slew of games that became an instant hit.

And mind you! It’s not only the kids, but also adults that have developed a fetish for the game. After the games, it was a turn of cards that seemed to catch up with the verve of the moment.

And if all this was not enough, the show is always there to entertain you with the antics of this audacious lad.

It’s about the journey Ash undertakes, as he scours every nook and corner for Pokemon characters; whom he has to acquire in due course of time.

Download of the batches of this show would open gateways for you into a virtual world, where wit and valor, go hand in hand.

Currently in its fourteenth season, the story is now progressing in the precincts of the Unova region.

Pokemon is a show that reaffirms faith in notions of bravery, commitment, friendship, love and affection.

Ash does know how to accomplish his goals, and surpass obstacles with his never-say-die attitude.

This character has got something that everyone can learn from!

Do you know who is Dr. Bug?

If you’re a fan of the Pokemon series, then your curiosity to know who Dr. Bug is must know no bounds. In case you are thinking that it’s some kind of Pokémon, which can be seen indulging some thrilling action, then I am afraid to tell you that you are wrong.

In fact, ‘Dr. Bug’ is none other than Satoshi Tajiri!

Astounded? Well, so was I! Every fan of Pokemon knows that he is one of writers of the action adventure science fiction. But, probably no one knows that he was known as ‘Dr. Bug’ due to his proclivity towards insects.

Yes friends, that’s correct! Recently, I went through one of his interviews and came to know about this fact. To one of the questions, he answered that he had keen interest in insects. Due to this reason, his friends nicknamed him ‘Dr. Bug’.

‘Dr. Bug’ also had a hobby of collecting insects. Do you know why? Just because, he found them fascinating!

In the interview, he disclosed that during the urbanization, the population of insects was drastically reduced. As Satoshi found them appealing, he collected them. He even used to explore new insects. Further, he used to learn about their eating habits and ways of living.

Well, it seems that that his inclination towards insects has led to the development of Pokemon. In case you observe the Pokemons carefully, you will realize that their appearances are more or less similar to insects.

So friends, I guess calling him ‘Dr. Bug’ is clearly justified, right?

I am sure I have revealed a rare fact about the writer of Pokemon. I will be back soon with some more interesting things related to the Pokemon series.

Pokemon Series followed by a game Breaks its Own Record!

Pokemon is one TV series that is hell bent on charting new frontiers, apart from raking in TRPS. The frenzy that begun with this anime series is no longer restricted to TV audience as the whole market seems to be flooded by merchandise, games, cards and much more.

Not a single day passes by when you don’t spot a child running sprightly in a Pokemon T-shirt, with the cuddly Pikachu etched on it. Amidst all this stuff, it would be a folly on my side not to mention the name of ‘Pokemon Black and White’. Yes! I am talking of the same game, which was launched a few days back, that is, on March 6, 2011.

Now, I am content to disclose the fact that ‘Pokemon Black and White’ has become the most selling game in the world, as far as Pokemon games are concerned. The players, who are used to Pokemon series based games, must be aware of the fact that ‘Pokemon Diamond and Pearl’, which hit the market four years back, created a record of selling 780,000 pieces of the game.

But, ‘Pokemon Black and White’ created a buzz by selling 1.08 million copies within a span of just 24 hours.

It clearly indicates that people don’t only love to enjoy the current season of Pokemon that is Black and White on the small screen, but they are also quite enthusiastic to take the controls in their hands.

I am eager to get one for myself and see the world of Pokemon series, recreated right in my hands!

Aren’t you?
