‘Pokemon’ returned with its eighth season on September 17, 2005. The first episode of season was entitled ‘Clamperl of Wisdom’. In this episode, we saw Ash and his gang encountering Spoink while on their way to Mossdeep City. Team Rocket was there to make the situation worse. Second episode of season was entitled ‘The Relicanth Really Can’ and in this episode, Ash and his friends met a man coming out of the water with a box in hand. Meanwhile, Team Rocket decided to steal all the Relicanth underwater. Ash and his friends’ journey was interrupted by a bunch of kids. They next met Professor Birch, who’s on the Island to look into the mystery of Clamperl's evolution and joined him. In ‘Training Wrecks’, they all arrived at Small Rocky Muscle Island. In ‘The Scuffle of Legends’, Kyogre threatened to drown everybody, under the control of Archie. Pikachu used Thunderbolt to release Groudon from its imprisonment. Next episode was entitled ‘Its Still Rocket Roll To Me’, in which Ash reached at Mossdeep City along with his friends. At the space center, they met Tate and Liza, two gym leaders. Meanwhile, Team Rocket was busy with its plan to steal the space shuttle at the center. In ‘Solid as a Solrock’, Ash was seen ready to fight against Tate and Liza and it was not very easy for him to earn his seventh badge.

In the next episode ‘Vanity Affair’, we saw that Ash had won over Tate and Liza and was confident for his next fight. Then was the episode entitled ‘Where’s Armaldo?’. May and Ash decided to train their Pokemon before going to the next Pokemon contest hall. It was the time for May’s new contest so Ash, May, Max & Brock headed to Izabe Island and met Harley. Ash and the team came to know about an ancient destructive power through an old man. ‘Once in a Mawile’, showed Ash and his friends meeting a girl named Samantha and saving her ribbon dance show and Mawile. In ‘Beg, Burrow and Steal’, Team Rocket tried to capture Pikachu but their all plans backfired.
